Harry Crossley Foundation Research Fellowships- 2012 for Honours, Masters & Doctoral Degrees at University Of Cape Town South Africa

The Harry Crossley Foundation Research Fellowships invites Applications for award of a limited number of Fellowships, available to South African students for full-time study in research-related degrees at the University of Cape Town. The Fellowships will be granted on the basis of academic merit and financial need, to students proceeding to the Honour’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees; and who will register in 2012 at the University of Cape Town for the first year of their intended degree.

Eligibility
A minimum of 65% aggregate for the undergraduate or Honours degree. This will need to be shown via the Applicant’s academic transcripts.

Ineligibility
Students who are employed full time or who will register for the 4th year of undergraduate degrees, Certificates, Diplomas, the LLB, BArch or HDE are NOT eligible. Note: Students registering for degrees in disciplines in Religious Studies and Political Studies are NOT ELIGIBLE in terms of the conditions made by the Foundation.


Financial Need Criteria
Financial Need must be illustrated as follows:
1. Income:
1.1 A full declaration of all income expected in 2011 from all sources must be recorded in the space provided on the required Application Form.
1.2 Certified or original copies of the applicants bank statements For The June July And August 2011 Must Be Attached.
2. Expenditure: Expenditure will be determined only via a UCT PRO-FORMA INVOICE which will provide details of the expected Cost of Attendance at UCT in 2012. This document must be sourced from the UCT Fees Office (Kramer Building, Middle Campus). Costs that are additional to the formal Cost of Attendance (as shown on the UCT PRO-FORMA INVOICE) will not be considered as being part of the Applicant’s overall financial need – i.e. Each applicant’s financial need will be wholly determined by the UCT PRO-FORMA INVOICE.
Applications submitted without the required documents will not be considered.

Academic Details
Applicants are required to fill the following details in the application form:

• School where matriculated
• University – Undergraduate degree (attach official transcript)
• Honours /Masters degree if applicable (attach official transcript)
• Current level of study
• University where currently registered
• Other qualifications (if applicable)
• Proposed degree Qualification

Reference Letter
You are required to provide TWO letters of reference from ACADEMICS who have taught/supervised you at University. These letters must be attached to the application Form in sealed envelopes, OR they must be forwarded directly to the Director of the Postgraduate Centre & Funding Office by no later than the closing date shown below.
