Yakubu Gowon Foundation (YGF) National Essay Competition for NYSC members 2011 - Over N1million Cash Award to Be Won

The Yakubu Gowon Foundation (YGF) in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) offers National Essay Competition 2011 for all serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. Up to N1,250,000 cash award to be won.
The National essay competition for Nigerian graduates currently serving as NYSC members is announced as part of the activities to commemorate the 77th birthday and celebration of life and virtues of Nigeria's former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon. The former Head of State and Patron of Yakubu Gowon Foundation (YGF), will clock 77 years on October 19 2011. Ten (10) winners will be selected.

The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) Agency and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) jointly celebrates NEPAD's 10th Anniversary. In the context of reflecting over the advancement of the African development agenda, both institutions are organizing an essay competition on the topic; "Looking at ICTs and entrepreneurship in agriculture and rural development through the eyes of women and the youth". This contest also falls in the framework of CTA activities on Youth, Women and ICTs. In line with these objectives, CTA and the NEPAD Agency are searching for enthusiastic African young (writers, journalists and other youth), who want to demonstrate their abilities by examining these issues.

United Bank of Africa (UBA) Group, the African financial services group, through its corporate social responsibility arm; UBA Foundation, has unveiled plans for a national essay competition for secondary school students in Nigeria.
