The Utrecht Excellence Scholarships for International students to study in Netherlands 2011/2012

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers a number of undergraduate and Master’s scholarship awards to highly talented prospective international students, with the opportunity to pursue a degree in a selected number of fields at Utrecht University. The scholarship programme is highly selective. Only candidates showing the highest achievement and promise may receive a scholarship. Selected students receive a scholarship for the duration of the degree programme, which is a maximum of two years for a Master's degree and three years for a Bachelor's degree. Approximately 55 scholarships are awarded each year.

The Huygens Scholarship Programme in Netherlands is a prestigious scholarship award programme open to excellent undergraduate and master’s students from all countries. The Professor De Winter scholarship for the academic year 2011/2012 is provided by Mrs. De Winter, the widow of Prof. Herman de Winter. Professor De Winter was one of the founders of the research and education department of the former Technical College Twente. In 1969 he became the first career counselor of Technical Physics. Eligibility

MAIPR Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship 2011 For International Students

The Masters In International Performance Research (MAIPR) Erasmus Mundus Programme For International Students By Amsterdam University is funded by the European Commission. From autum 2011 the scholarship will be offered by four internationally renowned academic institutions: the University of Warwick in the UK; the Universiteit van Amsterdam (the University of Amsterdam) in The Netherlands; the Tampereen Yliopisto (the University of Tampere) in Finland, the latter in cooperation with Helsingin Yliopisto (the University of Helsinki); and the Arts University of Belgrade (Serbia). Huygens Scholarship in Netherland for Postgraduate students Worldwide

The prestigious Huygens Scholarship Programme is open to excellent students from all countries. It is aimed at talented students who want to come to the Netherlands in the final phase of their bachelor's studies or during their master's studies.
PhD applications can only be accepted from excellent students with the Chinese, Croatian or Turkish nationality. Furthermore, the Minister of Culture and Science has allocated part of the total budget for excellent students following programmes in Dutch language and literature, or Neerlandistiek.

The University of Groningen awards scholarship grant to postgraduate Master's and PhD students. The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master's degree programme, and a maximum of 4 years for a PhD.

University of Twente Scholarship for International Students

The UT Scholarship is awarded by the Foundation University of Twente Scholarship Programme of the University of Twente. The UT Scholarship for Masters Degree Study is meant for international students who show excellence, both academically as well as socially. The UT Scholarship is awarded for one year of study and is extended for a second year if study results are sufficient. Please note that you can only be nominated for the UT Scholarship after you have been (unconditionally) accepted by the educational programme of your choice.

Application GUIDELINE/ELIGIBILITY

The online application form for admission to the university should be completed and all certified documents received by the university's admissions office.

You should be (unconditionally) accepted to a master programme at the University of Twente.

You should be excellent, both academically as well as socially.

Sufficient mastery of the English language:

academic IELTS, overall band score of at least 6.5
TOEFL, internet based (TOEFL-iBT) of at least 90

academic IELTS, speaking score of at least 6.0
TOEFL, internet based (TOEFL-iBT) of at least 20

Your faculty would nominate candidate for the UT Scholarship.

You should be a national of a non EU/EEA country.

You should show potential to become a future leader (of industry).

You should be strongly committed to society.

The UT Scholarship is not meant for candidates who already have their Master degree

Application DEADLINE
You cannot apply for the UT Scholarship yourself. You can only be nominated by the faculty of the university for a UT Scholarship between October 2009 and May 2010. The ultimate deadline is 10 May 2010.

Scholarship WORTH
The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the faculty with a maximum of €20,000. Please be aware that only a limited number of scholarships are available. Only the most excellent students will be nominated.

Application information
After being admitted to the University, the faculty may decide to nominate you for the scholarship. In that case the faculty will contact you to confirm your interest in the scholarship.

UN-Nippon Fellowship Programme in Ocean Affairs for Coastal Developing Countries

The UN-Nippon Fellowship Programme is funded by The Nippon Foundation of Japan and implemented by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DAOLOS), with the assistance of the Training and Fellowships Section of the United Nations Division for Economic and Social Affairs.
The main objective of the fellowship is to provide opportunities for advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines including marine science, to Government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing coastal States, so that they may obtain the necessary knowledge to assist their countries to formulate comprehensive ocean policy and to implement the legal regime set out in UNCLOS and related instruments.

Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarships in Journalism and Media

Excellent students from Non-EU (Non-European Union)-Countries are granted Erasmus Mundus Masters in Journalism and Media Scholarships by the European Commission.
Highly qualified students from a wide range of countries are admitted for this programme including students from Nigeria, other African and developing countries.
Applicants will normally be admitted if they have a BA or equivalent (at least an above average class mark is expected) and the equivalent of at least three months fulltime work as a professional journalist.
Students study in three European countries; first year in Denmark and Netherlands, second year in UK or Germany.
For application for a scholarship, send a letter of motivation, a CV and give a short statement about research area, and which partner institutions you would like to visit during you stay in Europe (applicants are expected to make arrangements with these institutions before sending the application).
Deadline for applications;
20th February 2010 - for EU applicants who want an early answer and non-EU students who want to secure their visa..
20th April 2010 - for all other applicants.
